LinketySplit sits between a publication and a reader who has hit a paywall. Instead of asking that reader to start a recurring subscription just to finish one article, the publication can offer them a single, one-time purchase for that article alone.
When you follow a link to an article that a LinketySplit publication has locked, you land on a purchase page for that article specifically — not a subscription signup. You see the price, pay once, and read. Nothing recurs, and nothing is billed later. See Buying access to an article for the details, including how to buy more than one copy to share with someone else.
A publication signs up, connects the articles it wants to sell, and sets a price (or a few price tiers) for each one. LinketySplit hosts the purchase page, collects the payment, and hands the publication's own site a signal that a specific reader has paid for a specific article — the publication is still the one serving the content. Setting up your publication walks through the whole process, from account to first sale.
There's no separate "publisher" login. You sign in to LinketySplit the same way whether you're there to buy an article or to manage a publication's settings — see Signing in to LinketySplit. A single person can be a reader on ten publications and the owner of one.
